NanaWall® VSW35: The Sliding/Stacking Standard Aluminum System
Technical Description
The VSW35 Sliding/Stacking System is an individual single panel sliding, aluminum framed, opening glass wall system designed to provide an opening glass wall or storefront with any custom panel size within the limitation of the Maximum Size Chart . An end panel can be a swing panel hinged to a side jamb. Swing panels are single acting but can be either inward or outward opening with details as shown in the cross-section drawings. This system features many possible configurations and stacking options, see drawings for possibilites.
Frame, Tracks and Stacking Bays
Head and side jambs are extruded aluminum; the nominal head jamb thickness is 1 3/4" (45 mm) and the nominal side jamb thickness is 1 3/8" (35 mm). Sills can be raised (for residential version only) or flush. Also available is a "no sill" option with locking point sockets to be installed on the finish floor.
The tracks can be laid out in a variety of configurations. Panels can be pushed out beyond the frame with a switch, and the stacking bays can be positioned anywhere along the track. Various stacking layouts are available as suggested in the drawings. Pocket stacking options are also available.
Panels
Swing panels and stiles and rails of sliding panels are extruded aluminum with interlocking tongue and groove profiles; as shown in the cross-section drawings. The nominal panel thickness is 1 3/8" (35 mm). Standard finishes available are clear or dark bronze anodized, dark brown or white powder coated. Custom finishes can be chosen from a range of anodized finishes and over 200 RAL powder coated colors. See the Color Selection section.
Panels are pre-assembled; panel stiles and rails are connected by special zinc die cast alloy; and corner fittings incorporate carriers and hinge components. Finish for corner connectors will match finish of frame and panels.
Glazing
Glazed units can be supplied with single tempered, laminated, clear insulating tempered, insulating Low-E tempered, or open. If supplied open, standard glass stops and "dry" glazing gaskets supplied are for glass thickness of 1/4" for single glazing and 11/16" for double glazing. See Glazing section for further details on glass specifications required.
A large selection of muntins layouts with mullions, glued on muntins, grilles between the glass, solid panels, higher bottom rails, etc. is available.
Weather Stripping
Weather stripping, consisting of APTK, EPDM or brush seals is provided for sealing between panels and between panel and frame.
Sliding And Swinging Hardware
Attached to the upper corners of each panel are load bearing, stainless steel uni-directional carriers with two rollers each. Each roller has sealed bearings and is coated with toughened Polyamide to ensure sound free running and resistance to extreme temperature. For any swing panel, provided are two hinges per panel at the corner fittings.
Locking Hardware
See the Hardware section.
